<p class="wp-block-paragraph">NTPC Kanti has launched the “Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2026” under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, reaffirming its commitment to inclusive community development. The month-long residential programme was inaugurated on Monday by Shri Sanjib Kumar Suar, Head of Project, under the theme <em>“Empowered Girls, Empowered Kanti.”</em></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Scheduled from May 26 to June 20, 2026, the initiative brings together 50 girl students from nine schools across villages in the Kanti block. The programme is designed to empower young girls through education, personality development, confidence building, and holistic learning.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">During the four-week residential workshop, participants will receive free academic coaching in Mathematics, English, Hindi, and Science. NTPC Kanti is also providing nutritious meals, accommodation, and all essential learning materials at no cost. To ensure well-rounded development, the programme features a wide range of extracurricular activities, including yoga, dance, music, painting, sports, and cultural engagement. Computer training sessions will further enhance digital literacy among the students.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Sanjib Kumar Suar said, “NTPC Kanti has always been committed to the development and upliftment of the surrounding community. Through the Girl Empowerment Mission, we aim not only to strengthen academic learning but also to instill confidence and essential life skills among young girls. Over the next four weeks, we will ensure their safety, learning, and overall well-being. I thank the parents, teachers, and school authorities for their trust and support.”</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Maheshkumar Suthar, Additional General Manager (Human Resources), highlighted the broader impact of the initiative, stating, “This programme will transform not just the lives of these girls but also positively influence their families and society. After 28 days of learning and exposure, they will return with enhanced confidence, awareness, and self-belief.”</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The inaugural event was attended by Sanjeet Kumar, Deputy General Manager (Human Resources), along with other senior officials of NTPC Kanti. In his vote of thanks, Shri Sanjeet Kumar expressed appreciation to the participating students, parents, teachers, and community members for their enthusiastic support in making the initiative meaningful and impactful.</p>
