The Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) space in India saw a mixed performance during the week ending August 16, 2025. While most sectors experienced mild consolidation or minor declines, PSU stocks continue to be supported by strong market fundamentals and favorable government policies. Here are the top PSU stocks that deserve attention this week:

NMDC Ltd. (NMDC)

Dividend: ₹1 per share (Ex-date: Aug 14, 2025)

Trading Strategy:

Stock has corrected nearly 25% in the last quarter.

Potential for further dip toward the ₹58–₹62 range.

Swing opportunity if the stock breaks above ₹72.

Investor Strategy (Medium–Long Term):

Target: ₹75–₹82

Stop Loss: ₹51

Holding Period: 4–7 quarters

View: Wait for a better entry point; accumulating near support levels could deliver decent gains.

Investment Strategy:

Buy Range: ₹160–₹185

Target: Medium to long-term appreciation (5–18 months)

Stop Loss: ₹144

View: Attractive valuations and a strong profitability profile. Ideal for patient investors seeking PSU shipping exposure.

Container Corporation of India (CONCOR)

Q1 FY26 Highlights:

Revenue: ₹2,153 crore (YoY ↑ 2.4%, QoQ ↓ 5.87%)

Operating Profit: ₹432 crore (YoY ↓ 2.03%)

Net Profit: ₹259 crore (YoY ↓ 0.43%, QoQ ↓ 9.93%)

Dividend: ₹1.6 per share (Ex-date: Aug 13, 2025)

Investment Strategy:

Buy Range: ₹490–₹510

Stop Loss: ₹450

Holding Period: 10–18 months

View: Trading near multi-month lows; P/E ratio (31.81) is nearly double sector average (16.52), but fundamentals and its strategic role in logistics make it a favorable pick for patient investors.

Final Takeaway

While NMDC, SCI, and CONCOR show varied short-term trends, each has long-term potential backed by sector fundamentals and policy support. Investors should accumulate selectively on dips and remain mindful of stop-loss levels to manage volatility.

Recommendation: PSU stocks remain attractive for long-term portfolios, but investors should align entries with support zones and maintain a disciplined holding approach.
