The Boring Climate Podcast, A CSR Initiative By GPS Renewables

It wraps up Season I with Insights from India’s Leading Climate Experts

The Boring Climate Podcast, a CSR initiative by GPS Renewables, has successfully completed its first season. Launched in March 2025, the debut season of the podcast featured a series of in-depth conversations with India’s leading climate scientists and researchers.

The Boring Climate Podcast offers undiluted perspectives from some of India’s well known climate scientists who are working on homegrown solutions to tackle climate change. India has a wealth of climate and conservation research that are focused on issues unique to our region, along with solutions that are pioneered by Indian scientists. However, this impactful work and knowledge rarely reaches a larger, non-academic audience. The Boring Climate Podcast aims to bridge this gap and encourage deeper understanding and action on climate issues.

Commenting on the podcast, Mainak Chakraborty, CEO and Co-Founder, GPS Renewables, said, “ The idea behind this podcast was to create a platform that could simplify climate issues and highlight those who are working towards addressing some of the biggest climate challenges of our time. Our aim was to present content in a way that not only builds awareness but also inspires action. We are particularly keen on building deeper conversations that can help democratize climate science. The positive response from our audience is a clear indication that there is a definitive need for such content. We look forward to bringing more diverse perspectives in the upcoming season.”

The debut season featured expert guests such as Dr. Madhavan Nair Rajeevan, a distinguished climate scientist and former Director of Indian Meteorological Department, Dr. Vivek Polshettiwar, Bhatnagar Award Winner for Co2 conversion, Dr. NH Ravindranath, author of several IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) assessment reports on climate change, Dr Harini Nagendra, Director at the School of Climate Change and Sustainability, Azim Premji University, Vishwanath Srikantiah, urban water conservation expert, Dr Uma Ramakrishnan, ecologist and expert in tiger conservation, Dr Muthamilarasan, subject matter expert in gene editing of millets, and Dr Kadambari Devarajan, an engineer-turned-ecologist.

Season 2 of The Boring Climate Podcast will continue to feature India’s leading climate and conservation scientists who will share insights on the themes of marine health, natural history, landslides and western ghats degradation, etc.
