BCCL CSR Skill Development Programme: 214 of 250 Trainees Secure Jobs After CTTC Kolkata Training

Convocation ceremony marks successful completion of industry-oriented skill programme for youth from Dhanbad region

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, organised a convocation ceremony at the Central Toolroom & Training Centre (CTTC), Kolkata, to mark the successful completion of its Skill Development Training Programme.

Murali Krishna Ramaiah, Director (Human Resources), BCCL, attended the event as Chief Guest.

A total of 250 trainees from various locations across the Dhanbad region—including Katras, Baghmara and Jharia—successfully completed training in multiple mechanical and industrial engineering trades. The programme was conducted by BCCL in collaboration with CTTC, Kolkata, with the objective of enhancing employability through industry-aligned skills.

Significantly, 214 trainees have already received job offers from reputed organisations, while placement efforts for the remaining participants are currently underway.

During the convocation, Shri Murali Krishna Ramaiah presented completion certificates to top-performing trainees. Addressing the gathering, he urged students to confidently face workplace challenges, continuously upgrade their skills, and move forward with discipline and a positive mindset. He emphasised the importance of adapting to new technologies in today’s rapidly evolving industrial environment, noting that BCCL’s CSR initiatives aim not only at employment generation but also at nurturing self-reliant, capable and skilled youth for nation-building.

An interactive session was also held, during which trainees shared their learning experiences and expressed gratitude to BCCL for the opportunity, describing the programme as a major milestone in their career journeys.

CTTC’s General Manager (Training), along with his team, highlighted the customised curriculum designed to meet current industry requirements. The programme concluded with emphasis on the critical role of skilled human resources in India’s development.

Ms Nilanjana Chakraborty, Senior Manager, BCCL CSR, along with other officials, played a key role in the successful organisation of the event.
