Distribution of marital-life essentials to young women from economically weaker families in the rehabilitation area and electric tricycles to differently-abled individuals

Deeksha Mahila Mandal of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) organized an important social welfare programme at the Belgarhia Rehabilitation Township under Palani Panchayat. As part of the initiative, the Mahila Mandal distributed essential household items—including cupboards, utensils, and clothes—to four young women from economically weaker families, supporting them as they begin their married life.

In another meaningful gesture, the organization provided electric tricycles to two differently-abled individuals, empowering them with enhanced mobility and greater self-reliance.

The event was graced by Mrs. Archana Agarwal, President of Deeksha Mahila Mandal, Vice President Mrs. Purbitha Ramaiya, and other respected committee members.

Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Archana Agarwal emphasized the Mandal’s ongoing commitment to uplifting underprivileged and marginalized sections of society. She stated that Deeksha Mahila Mandal aims not only to extend financial support but also to foster self-reliance, confidence, and social empowerment. She added that such programmes act as catalysts for positive societal change and promote compassion within the community.

Committee members also interacted with the families of the beneficiary young women, conveying their heartfelt wishes for a happy and successful married life.

As part of the programme, the Mahila Mandal team visited the Multi-Skill Development Institute–1, operating in the rehabilitation area under BCCL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). They engaged with trainees enrolled in the Mine Electrician trade and offered motivating suggestions to encourage their skill development.

The programme concluded with a collective resolve to further strengthen the values of cooperation, equality, empowerment, and self-reliance in society.
