BCCL Signs MoU with Kirti Trust for Skill Development of Youth in Dhanbad

The initiative aims to provide structured training to 250 youth from Dhanbad district in the Retail Sales Executive job role

In a significant step towards strengthening community development and employability, Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kirti Trust at Coal Bhawan headquarters to implement a skill development programme for local youth under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The initiative aims to provide structured training to 250 youth from Dhanbad district in the Retail Sales Executive job role. Priority will be given to candidates from BCCL’s operational areas, ensuring direct and sustainable benefits to communities residing around mining regions.

The training programme will be implemented by Kirti Trust, an organisation actively engaged in skill development, livelihood promotion, capacity building, and community welfare initiatives. Participants will receive comprehensive training covering retail operations, customer service, communication skills, personality development, and workplace etiquette, equipping them to secure employment opportunities in the organised retail sector.

Senior officials present during the signing ceremony included Director (Human Resources) Murali Krishna Ramaiah, Head of Department (CSR) Surendra Bhushan, and members of the BCCL CSR team. Representing Kirti Trust, Chairman Rakesh Kumar attended the event.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Ramaiah emphasized that while BCCL continues to play a vital role in India’s energy sector, the company remains equally committed to fulfilling its social responsibilities through impactful community-focused initiatives.

The MoU reflects BCCL’s sustained commitment to promoting inclusive growth by supporting skill development, employment generation, and long-term socio-economic upliftment of local communities.
