BCCL Organises Free Mega Health Camp at Kusunda

Around 300 residents receive free medical examinations, diagnostic tests and medicines through BCCL’s community health initiative

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) organised a free health check-up camp at the DAV Public School Ground, Kusunda, with the objective of providing accessible, quality and specialised medical services to residents of nearby areas.

The health camp witnessed participation from experienced specialist doctors and medical teams from Central Hospital BCCL, Kusunda Regional Hospital and Coal Nagar Hospital. Around 300 beneficiaries underwent free general health check-ups during the camp. In addition, diagnostic services such as blood tests, thyroid profile, HbA1c, lipid profile, blood pressure and blood sugar tests were conducted. Medical consultations were provided as per individual requirements, and free medicines were distributed to needy patients.

The programme was presided over by Mr. Murali Krishna Ramaiah, Director (Human Resources), BCCL, who inaugurated the camp. Addressing the gathering, he stated that BCCL remains committed to the holistic development of communities residing in its operational areas, beyond its industrial activities. Emphasising that health is the most valuable asset of any society, he said BCCL has been consistently organising such free health camps to ensure timely medical check-ups and consultations for the public. He expressed confidence that the initiative would directly benefit local residents and reaffirmed BCCL’s commitment to continue similar welfare programmes in the future.

Several senior officials and medical professionals were present on the occasion, including Dr. Poonam Dubey, Chief Medical Services, BCCL; Mr. Nikhil Trivedi, General Manager (Kusunda Area); Mr. A.K. Jha, Assistant General Manager; Mr. A.K. Singh, General Manager (Excavation)-cum-CMOAI Representative; Mrs. Yogita Saklani, APM, along with specialist doctors Dr. Vikas Jaipuriar, Dr. Kumar Saurabh, Dr. Shweta Rashmi, Dr. Shashwati Pandit, Dr. Rohini Kumari, Dr. U. Mallesh, Dr. Sakshi and Dr. Santosh Kumar.

Paramedical staff, nursing staff, students and teachers of DAV Kusunda, and a large number of local citizens actively participated in the programme.

The event commenced with a warm welcome to the dignitaries, followed by a welcome song presented by DAV School students. The health camp reflected BCCL’s strong social commitment and continuous efforts towards public welfare, further strengthening trust, cooperation and partnership between the company and the local community.
