CMD, Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), Manoj Kumar Agrawal today inaugurated the newly constructed HRD training complex ‘Visvesvaraya Hall’ at Kalyan Bhawan, Jagjivan Nagar. The inauguration marks a significant step towards strengthening structured capacity building and leadership development within the organisation.

Director (HR) Murali Krishna Ramaiah, OSD (Finance) Rajesh Kumar, GM (HRD) Anup Kumar Roy, GM (HR) Kumar Manoj, GM (Administration) Arpan Ghosh, along with senior officers and employees of Coal Bhawan Headquarters, were present on the occasion.

The inaugural programme commenced with a tree plantation by the CMD and senior officials, followed by the formal opening of the training complex. The facility comprises a modern training hall and a spacious dining hall, capable of accommodating around 100 participants simultaneously, thereby enhancing HRD training infrastructure at BCCL.

Following the inauguration, CMD Manoj Kumar Agrawal also inaugurated Miraki 1.0, a specialised workshop based on the themes ‘My BCCL, My Pride’ and ‘Fun at Work’, organised in the auditorium of Visvesvaraya Hall. The programme was attended by around 80 officers from E-3 to E-5 levels representing BCCL Headquarters and all operational regions.

Addressing the officers during the session ‘My BCCL, My Pride’, CMD Manoj Kumar Agrawal presented an overview of BCCL’s journey, achievements, technological advancements, diversification initiatives, CSR activities, and future roadmap. He emphasised that BCCL, as a key subsidiary of Coal India Limited, continues to play a pivotal role in national energy security and nation-building.

Highlighting the importance of human capital, the CMD said that employees are the organisation’s greatest strength and that a skilled, committed workforce forms the foundation of sustained success. He encouraged officers to embrace innovation, a healthy work culture, and social responsibility to further strengthen BCCL’s leadership in the energy sector.

In his session on ‘Fun at Work’, Director (HR) Murali Krishna Ramaiah underlined the role of a positive and collaborative work environment in enhancing productivity, creativity, and employee well-being. He stated that meaningful workplace engagement boosts morale and commitment, while cautioning that such initiatives must be natural, purposeful, and aligned with employees’ real needs to avoid becoming superficial.

The term ‘Miraki’, originally derived from Greek, signifies performing one’s work with complete dedication—transforming work from mere responsibility into a form of self-expression and commitment.

Earlier, the programme began with a ceremonial lamp lighting by the CMD and senior dignitaries, followed by the National Anthem and the Coal India Song. In the concluding session, CMD Manoj Kumar Agrawal, Director (HR), and OSD (Finance) were felicitated with mementos.

The vote of thanks was delivered by GM (HRD) Anup Kumar Roy, while the programme was anchored by Senior Manager (HR) Safoora Rubab. Senior Manager (Mining) Radheshyam Dubey, Manager (Mining) Sumit Kumar, and associates Pratik and Ranbir contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the programme.
