NTPC Bongaigaon Supports Young Football Talent from Salakati

The footballer is one of the few players from the Bodoland Territorial Region to secure training with a reputed football academy

NTPC Bongaigaon has extended financial and material support to Master Sandeep Narzary, a promising young footballer from Bangalpara village under Salakati Police Station, who has been selected for the Under-13 Football Training Programme at Sudeva Delhi FC.

Hailing from a financially challenged background, Sandeep’s journey—from participating in the Bodofa Mission for Sustainable Change – Summer Coaching Camp 2024, supported by NTPC Bongaigaon, to earning a place at a reputed football academy—marks a proud milestone for the Bodoland Territorial Region. He is among the few players from the region to secure such an opportunity.

As part of its ongoing commitment to nurture sports and youth talent, NTPC Bongaigaon has provided financial assistance of ₹25,000 to support Sandeep’s travel, accommodation, and sustenance during the training period under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. In addition, the station has provided basic sports essentials—including a suitcase bag, water bottle, sports boots, shoes, a T-shirt with the NTPC Bongaigaon logo, and a tracksuit valued at ₹7,500.

The support was extended in the presence of Amit Asthana, Head of HR, Ajay Ram Baro, General Secretary, NBEU, Pinchu Daimary, President, NBEU, and other officials from the HR Department.

Sandeep’s father, Bilifang Narzary, serves as contractual manpower in the IT Department of NTPC Bongaigaon. The station’s gesture reflects its sustained efforts to encourage local talent and empower youth through sports and community engagement initiatives.

Through initiatives like these, NTPC Bongaigaon continues to uphold its vision of promoting holistic development and fostering a culture of excellence among the youth of the region.
