
In a significant step under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, NTPC Unchahar has partnered with the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Lucknow, to provide vocational training in Machine Operator – Plastics Processing to 40 selected youth from 15 nearby village panchayats. The initiative is aimed at enhancing employability and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural youth.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Abhay Kumar Srivastava, Executive Director & Head of Project, NTPC Unchahar, by Ruma De Sharma, Head of Human Resources, NTPC Unchahar, and Puneet Bhargava, Senior Administrative Officer, CIPET Lucknow.

Speaking on the occasion, Srivastava reaffirmed NTPC’s commitment to skill development and youth empowerment. He emphasized that the collaboration with CIPET will not only provide technical expertise but also open avenues for long-term career growth. To mark the commencement, he flagged off a bus carrying the selected trainees to Lucknow for the four-month residential training program.

The event was graced by several dignitaries including Anupama Srivastava, President, Priyadarshini Ladies Club; Dilip Kumar Sahu, General Manager (Operation); S.U. Haridas, General Manager (Maintenance); Ranjita, Senior Member, PDLC; Rajesh Srivastava (SDM, Unchahar); along with union representatives, senior officials, and PDLC committee members.
The comprehensive training program, jointly conducted by NTPC and CIPET, will equip participants with specialized skills and link them with diverse employment opportunities. The selected candidates and their families expressed heartfelt gratitude to NTPC and CIPET for providing a transformative opportunity towards a brighter future.
