<p class="wp-block-paragraph">NTPC Kanti has allocated <strong>₹1 crore for the development of seven Chhath Ghats</strong> in and around the project area as part of its CSR initiative. The works will be executed through the concerned department of the Government of Bihar under the <strong>Deposit Work Scheme</strong>.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In this regard, <strong>Pankaj Kumar Gupta, Head of Project, NTPC Kanti</strong>, has written to the District Magistrate, Muzaffarpur, requesting execution of the proposed works through the concerned department of the Bihar Government. NTPC Kanti has earmarked a CSR budget of <strong>₹1 crore for FY 2026-27</strong> for the initiative.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The proposed Chhath Ghat development works will be undertaken at seven locations:</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The development of these Chhath Ghats will provide residents, particularly those from surrounding and Project Affected Villages (PAVs), with safer and more convenient facilities for observing <strong>Chhath Puja</strong> and other community activities.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The initiative assumes significance ahead of the upcoming Chhath festival, when these water bodies witness large gatherings of devotees. The proposed infrastructure is expected to facilitate safer and more organised celebrations for the local community.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">NTPC Kanti has been undertaking various CSR and community development initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life and supporting the socio-economic development of communities around its project area. The development of Chhath Ghats is another step towards strengthening its commitment to community welfare and inclusive development.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) organized a one-day free health check-up camp for students at <strong>Saraswati Vidya Mandir (SVM), Dugdha campus</strong>, through its Dugdha Coal Washery, reaffirming its commitment to community healthcare and the well-being of children in its operational areas.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The camp aimed to raise awareness about preventive healthcare, encourage regular health check-ups, and inspire students to adopt healthy lifestyle practices from an early age.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A team of medical experts from Dugdha Coal Washery conducted comprehensive health examinations, including <strong>height, weight, vision, and dental health screenings</strong>. Students also received health counselling wherever required, ensuring regular monitoring of their physical growth and overall well-being.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The initiative was organized in compliance with the directions of <strong>BCCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Manoj Kumar Agarwal</strong>, who, during his visit to Dugdha Coal Washery with the company&#8217;s Board of Directors last month, had instructed Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Dugdha, to organize regular health check-up camps for students.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With the motto <strong>&#8220;Let&#8217;s Build a Healthy Future Together!&#8221;</strong>, BCCL continues to prioritize healthcare, education, and the social development of communities surrounding its mining operations. Such health camps play an important role in creating health awareness among students, facilitating early detection of potential health issues, and providing timely medical guidance.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The camp was led by <strong>Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Deputy Medical Surgeon, Dugdha Coal Washery</strong>. <strong>Project Officer Amit Kumar</strong>, along with teachers of Saraswati Vidya Mandir and other school staff members, actively participated in ensuring the successful conduct of the programme.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has inaugurated a Model Anganwadi Centre at Lingiadih in Bilaspur under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme aimed at enhancing early childhood education and strengthening grassroots social infrastructure.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The centre was inaugurated by <strong>Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources), SECL</strong>, and forms part of a larger initiative under which <strong>200 Anganwadi Centres across Bilaspur district</strong> are being upgraded with a financial outlay of <strong>₹4.72 crore</strong>.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Addressing the gathering, Biranchi Das highlighted the importance of quality early childhood education and improved learning facilities in shaping the overall development of children. He said the upgraded centre would provide a more engaging and conducive environment for learning and growth.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Senior SECL officials, including<strong> Ajay Behera, General Manager (CSR)</strong>, and members of the CSR Department were present during the inauguration ceremony.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Anganwadi Centre currently caters to <strong>22 enrolled children</strong>. To mark the occasion, educational materials including books, pencils, drawing pads, sketchbooks and other learning aids were distributed among the children.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The modernized facility features child-friendly classrooms, enhanced sanitation infrastructure, educational learning aids and modern furniture designed to support holistic early childhood development.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">SECL has been actively implementing CSR projects across Bilaspur district in the areas of education, healthcare and social welfare. Recently, the foundation stone for a <strong>state-of-the-art Old Age Home and Divyangjan Rehabilitation Centre</strong> at Sakri, Bilaspur, funded through SECL’s CSR programme, was laid by CM Vishnu Deo Sai.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Bank of Baroda has contributed ₹2,00,16,000 (Rupees Two Crore Sixteen Thousand Only) to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund (AFFDF), under the aegis of the Kendriya Sainik Board, Ministry of Defence.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The contribution has been made as part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to support educational scholarships for <strong>834 children of ex-servicemen, martyrs, and their widows</strong>.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The cheque was formally handed over by <strong>Beena Vaheed</strong>, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda, to <strong>D. S. Basera, VSM</strong>, Secretary, Kendriya Sainik Board. The ceremony was attended by <strong>M. V. S. Sudhakar</strong>, General Manager &amp; Zonal Head, New Delhi Zone, Bank of Baroda.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Reaffirming its commitment to the armed forces community, Bank of Baroda stated that the initiative reflects its deep respect for the sacrifices made by the nation’s soldiers. The Bank emphasized its continued focus on empowering families of ex-servicemen and martyrs through education-driven support.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Through such contributions, Bank of Baroda continues to strengthen its position as a socially responsible institution, ensuring that children of defence personnel are provided with opportunities for a secure and brighter future.</p>
