CCL Organises Mega Blood Donation Camp on World Blood Donor Day, Collects 50 Units of Blood

CCL officials, employees and voluntary donors come together to support life-saving healthcare initiative

Marking the observance of World Blood Donor Day, Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) organised a mega blood donation camp on June 14, 2026, at the Blood Centre of Gandhi Nagar Hospital, Ranchi. The initiative aimed to promote voluntary blood donation and raise awareness about the importance of timely blood availability for patients in need.

The camp was inaugurated by CCL Director (Human Resources) Harsh Nath Mishra. Senior officials present on the occasion included Director (Technical/Operations) Chandra Shekhar Tiwari, Director (Planning & Projects) Anup Hanjura, Chief Vigilance Officer Pankaj Kumar, and Arpita Mahila Mandal President Preeti Singh, along with several other officers and employees.

During the programme, the dignitaries and participants took a pledge to support and promote voluntary blood donation initiatives in the future. They emphasized the need to inspire more individuals to become regular blood donors so that patients requiring blood can receive timely assistance.

The blood donation camp was organised by the Blood Centre at Gandhi Nagar Hospital under the guidance of Dr. Raj Kumar, Chief Medical Officer (In-charge), CCL, and Dr. Bharat Singh, Chief Medical Officer (In-charge), Gandhi Nagar Hospital.

A total of 50 units of blood were collected during the camp. Among the donors were 44 men and 6 women, who voluntarily contributed to the noble cause of saving lives. Female blood donors and individuals who actively promoted blood donation awareness were also felicitated during the event.

The successful conduct of the camp was supported by the dedicated efforts of Dr. Anita Kumari, Head of Department (Pathology), Dr. Khushboo Saran, Dr. Srimoyee Mukherjee, Dr. Mohana Mandal, along with the technicians and support staff of the Blood Centre.

CCL said the initiative reflects its commitment to social responsibility and public health by encouraging voluntary blood donation and fostering a spirit of humanitarian service within society.
