
On the occasion of Vivekananda Jayanti and the 164th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, also observed as National Youth Day, Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD), BCCL, Manoj Kumar Agarwal paid tribute to the revered spiritual leader by garlanding his statue at Vivekananda Chowk, Coal Nagar.
The event was graced by Swami Siddhipradhanand Ji Maharaj, a monk from Belur Math, who attended the programme as a special guest. Also present were Director (Technical/Operations) Sanjay Kumar Singh, OSD (Finance) Rajesh Kumar, Company Secretary B.K. Parui, along with General Managers, department heads, senior officials, employees of BCCL, and members of the public. All dignitaries offered floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda.

Following the tribute ceremony, CMD Manoj Kumar Agarwal inaugurated various student competitions organised by the Ramakrishna Vivekananda Swadhyay Seva Trust, Coal Nagar, aimed at promoting the ideals of Swami Vivekananda among school children.

Addressing the gathering, the CMD said that Swami Vivekananda was a towering symbol of Indian culture and spirituality, who presented India’s civilisational values to the world with confidence during an era dominated by Western thought. He emphasized that Swami Vivekananda remains a powerful source of inspiration for the youth, which is why his birth anniversary is celebrated as National Youth Day. He urged everyone to imbibe Swami Vivekananda’s ideals of character, spirituality, and service to society to bring about positive social change.

More than 100 students from various schools of Dhanbad and nearby areas participated enthusiastically in the programme. Teachers, members of the Swadhyay Seva Trust, BCCL employees, and a large number of local citizens were present. Shri Bikesh Singh and Shri Dilip Kumar Singh from the Ramakrishna Vivekananda Swadhyay Seva Trust, Coal Nagar, were also present on the occasion.
