Renowned yoga instructors including Kamal Motwani of Art of Living, Dr. Kavita, Asha Soni of Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Sunil Suryavanshi of Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission and Sanatan Das of Gayatri Pariwar guided participants through yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation practices.

A live telecast of the national International Day of Yoga celebrations led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Kolkata was also screened during the programme.

Addressing the gathering, CMD Harish Duhan emphasized the importance of yoga in daily life. “Yoga is the foundation of a healthy body, a calm mind and a positive lifestyle. Regular practice of yoga strengthens us physically and mentally and helps improve overall quality of life,” he said. The yoga camp, being organized from June 15 to June 20, was inaugurated by BCCL Director (Human Resources) Murali Krishna Ramaiah, who lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning of the programme.

The inaugural session was attended by General Manager (Mining/HRD) Sudhakar Prasad, General Manager (Manpower Planning) Arpan Ghosh, Head of Department (CSR) Surendra Bhushan, Head of Department (Administration) Manish Mishra, Head of Department (Welfare) Kiran Rani Nayak, along with several General Managers, departmental heads, officers, and employees from the headquarters.

Participants enthusiastically took part in yoga sessions conducted under the guidance of yoga instructor Ram Sarnar Singh. The programme included yoga asanas, pranayama, meditation, prayer, and other wellness practices aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and stress management.

Addressing the gathering, Ramaiah highlighted the significance of yoga as India’s ancient and invaluable heritage. The initiative is part of nationwide preparations for International Yoga Day 2026, with Public Sector Undertakings and government departments organizing yoga and wellness programmes in line with the guidelines of the Ministry of AYUSH.
