SECL Celebrates International Day of Yoga 2026 with Grand Yoga Mahotsav in Bilaspur

CMD Harish Duhan urges employees and families to adopt yoga as a daily habit as SECL marks International Day of Yoga with large-scale participation across its headquarters, areas and operational units.

South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) celebrated the International Day of Yoga with a grand mass yoga session under the banner of SECL Yoga Mahotsav 2026 at Vasant Club, Vasant Vihar Colony, Bilaspur. Organised in line with this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees, officers and their family members.

The programme was attended by SECL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Harish Duhan, First Lady of SECL and President of Shraddha Mahila Mandal Shashi Duhan, Director (HR) Biranchi Das, Director (Finance) Darla Sunil Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer Himanshu Jain, Director (Technical–Projects & Planning) Ramesh Chandra Mohapatra, Vice Presidents of Shraddha Mahila Mandal Ipsita Das and Hasina Kumar, along with senior officials, employees and their families.

The yoga session was conducted under the guidance of Brahma Kumari Gayatri Devi. Renowned yoga instructors including Kamal Motwani of Art of Living, Dr. Kavita, Asha Soni of Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Sunil Suryavanshi of Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission and Sanatan Das of Gayatri Pariwar guided participants through yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation practices.

A live telecast of the national International Day of Yoga celebrations led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Kolkata was also screened during the programme.

Addressing the gathering, CMD Harish Duhan emphasized the importance of yoga in daily life. “Yoga is the foundation of a healthy body, a calm mind and a positive lifestyle. Regular practice of yoga strengthens us physically and mentally and helps improve overall quality of life,” he said. He encouraged employees and their family members to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for long-term health and well-being.

At the conclusion of the event, participants took a pledge to practise yoga regularly and contribute towards building a healthier society. A separate pledge for a drug-free society was also administered.

Similar yoga programmes were organised across SECL’s headquarters, various areas and operational units, witnessing large-scale participation from employees and their families. The company said the celebrations reflected its continued commitment to promoting health, wellness and holistic well-being among its workforce and communities.
