
The Human Resources Directorate of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) held an important review meeting at its Coal Bhawan headquarters to assess key Human Resource Management initiatives and employee welfare schemes.
The meeting was chaired by the Director (Human Resources) and attended by all General Managers (GMs), Heads of Departments (HODs), Regional Managers (HR) from various regions under the HR Directorate, as well as newly recruited Management Trainees (MTs) who recently joined the organization.
During the meeting, several significant issues aimed at improving organizational efficiency and employee welfare were discussed.
Key Points Discussed
Group Gratuity Scheme
The meeting reviewed pending cases related to the Group Gratuity Scheme administered by Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). The scheme provides financial relief to the dependents of deceased employees. Officials were directed to expedite the settlement of pending sanctioned claims to ensure timely assistance to affected families.
Staff Development and Education
A detailed review was conducted of permissions granted at the regional level to employees pursuing higher education and technical qualifications over the past three years. The initiative aims to promote skill enhancement and professional development among employees.
Digitization and SAP Updation
Emphasis was laid on strengthening data management through timely updates in the SAP system, particularly regarding Key Position records and Quarter Allotment details. The HR Directorate stressed the importance of transparency and accuracy in maintaining digital records.
Administrative Review
The progress of House Rent Recovery (HRR), in accordance with revised GPRA rates, was reviewed along with the ongoing HR audit to ensure proper compliance with administrative guidelines.
On the occasion, the Director (HR) directed all concerned officials to complete these technical and administrative tasks within stipulated timelines to enhance employee welfare and maintain transparency in the company’s data management processes.
The meeting also served as an important orientation platform for the newly recruited Management Trainees, enabling them to gain firsthand insights into the company’s operational and administrative procedures.
