NTPC Limited’s North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project (NKSTPP) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the District Administration, Chatra, to develop 25 Anganwadi Centres into Model Anganwadi Centres across the district.
Under this initiative, NTPC will provide financial assistance of ₹1,08,07,500, with the project to be executed in a structured mode ensuring efficient implementation and timely completion.
The initiative aims to strengthen maternal and child healthcare, promote early childhood care and pre-school education, and address critical issues such as malnutrition. It is also expected to contribute significantly towards reducing Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in the district.
The MoA was signed in the presence of:
- Keerthishree G, Deputy Commissioner, Chatra
- Alok Kumar Tripathi, Head of Project, NTPC North Karanpura
- Amrendra Kumar Sinha, Deputy Development Commissioner
- Neeraj Roy, AGM (HR), NTPC North Karanpura
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Keerthishree G appreciated NTPC’s sustained commitment to community development. She noted that the collaboration would not only enhance Anganwadi infrastructure but also significantly improve maternal and child health, nutrition, and early education outcomes, creating a meaningful and lasting impact in Chatra district.
The development of these Model Anganwadi Centres is expected to strengthen grassroots social infrastructure and improve the socio-economic well-being of the community—particularly benefiting women and children—while contributing to a healthier, more educated, and empowered society.
