Dalmia Bharat Foundation Strengthens Rural Livelihoods and Digital Empowerment

These livelihood interventions are expected to help beneficiaries earn between ₹1 lakh and ₹1.5 lakh annually

Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Dalmia Bharat Ltd, marked Republic Day 2026 with impactful community interventions at Nigohi and Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable livelihoods and inclusive development.

At the Dalmia Bharat Sugar plant premises in Nigohi, DBF inaugurated nine microenterprises under its flagship Gram Parivartan Program, aimed at enhancing economic self-reliance among rural households. The newly launched ventures include seven e-rickshaws, one cosmetic shop and one vegetable grocery shop.

The event was attended by Shri Kuldeep Kumar, Plant Head; Mr. Aditya Mohan Gupta, HR Head; and Mr. Ashish Bansal, Cane Head, along with officials from the DBF Nigohi team. These livelihood interventions are expected to help beneficiaries earn between ₹1 lakh and ₹1.5 lakh annually, ensuring stable incomes, improved financial security and long-term livelihood sustainability.

In parallel, DBF advanced its digital inclusion efforts through the WOW Bus Program in Gangapur village, Hardoi district. As part of Republic Day celebrations, 45 students received digital literacy certificates at Pramila Devi Shishu Shikshan Sansthan. Launched on October 16, 2025, the initiative has so far trained 135 children, with 75 currently undergoing training, equipping rural youth above 14 years with essential digital skills.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Atul Agrawal, Unit Head, Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries Limited, Gangapur; Mr. Vijay Shankar Upadhyay, HR Head; Mr. Ramgopal Dwivedi, Pradhan, Gangapur; and Mr. Manoj Kumar, Headmaster.
