
Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Nilendu Kumar Singh today felicitated Vaibhav Kumar, son of Viresh Kumar, Staff Officer (Project & Planning), Kuju Area, for securing the 90th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024.
At a special ceremony held at the CCL headquarters, the CMD presented a memento to Vaibhav and honoured his proud parents, Viresh Kumar and Sunita Kumari, with shawls and bouquets, acknowledging their unwavering support and contribution.
Speaking on the occasion, Nilendu Kumar Singh said, “Vaibhav’s achievement is a matter of immense pride not only for his family but for the entire Coal India fraternity. His success exemplifies the values and strength of our extended CCL family.”

The ceremony was graced by Director (Finance) Pawan Kumar Mishra, Director (HR) Harsh Nath Mishra, Director (Technical/Operations) Chandra Shekhar Tiwari, Chief Vigilance Officer Pankaj Kumar, and Head of CC & PRAlok Gupta, along with other senior officials.
A short documentary was screened during the event, tracing Vaibhav’s inspiring journey—from his formative years to cracking the UPSC examination twice. He had earlier secured the 151st rank in UPSC 2023 and is currently serving in the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes). His improved ranking this year positions him for a higher allocation in the prestigious civil services.
CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh has been instrumental in organizing such motivational events to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of CCL family members, fostering a culture of inspiration and unity within the organization.
