
State Bank of India (SBI), as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, has donated a school bus to the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa (NISR), Leh. The vehicle was formally handed over to Dr. Padma Gurmet, Director, NISR, by Krishan Sharma, Chief General Manager, Chandigarh Circle, SBI, in a ceremony held today at Leh.
The event was attended by Shri Jayant Mani, Deputy General Manager, Business & Operations, J&K Zone, Shri Anil Tondon, Chief Manager, SBI Leh Branch, senior officials of the Bank, along with faculty members, staff, and students of NISR.
Expressing gratitude, Dr. Padma Gurmet, Director, NISR, extended heartfelt thanks to SBI for the valuable contribution and highlighted the institute’s role in preserving and promoting the traditional Indian system of medicine, Sowa-Rigpa, for public welfare.
Speaking on the occasion, Krishan Sharma reaffirmed SBI’s commitment towards community welfare and regional development through sustainable CSR initiatives. He emphasized that SBI remains dedicated to supporting institutions that work for public service and socio-economic progress.
