Demonstrating its continued commitment to social welfare and inclusive community development, Diksha Mahila Mandal of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) organized a hearing aid distribution programme for specially-abled children from Dhanbad and nearby areas. The event was held at Annapurna Hall, Coal Nagar.
During the programme, Diksha Mahila Mandal President Mrs. Archana Agarwal, Vice President Mrs. Purbita Ramaiya, and Mrs. Neeta Kumar jointly distributed manual hearing aid devices to the children. Several other members of Diksha Mahila Mandal were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, President Mrs. Archana Agarwal emphasized that Diksha Mahila Mandal has consistently remained at the forefront of social and public welfare initiatives. She noted that physical disabilities, particularly hearing and speech impairments, can make life challenging and uncomfortable. The organization’s objective, she said, is to extend necessary support and resources to all sections of society so that affected individuals can lead more comfortable, accessible, and dignified lives. She reaffirmed that similar public service initiatives will continue in the future.

The programme commenced with a formal welcome of guests, followed by the distribution of hearing aids. A touching highlight of the event was the cultural presentation by the children, who performed the national songs “Vande Mataram” and “Jana Gana Mana,” deeply moving the audience. The children also presented an engaging performance of the Santhali song “Hamar Chotanagpur,” which received warm appreciation from attendees.
Among those present were CMO, CHD Dr. Bandana, Senior Medical Specialist (ENT) Dr. Pradeep Kumar Tiwari, along with senior officers and staff from Coal Bhawan Headquarters.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Manager (CSR) Mr. Abhijeet Mitra, while the programme was conducted by Deputy Manager (CSR) Mr. Shamrez Ali.
