In a significant step towards inclusive development, Bharat Coking Coal Limited distributed motorized e-tricycles among Divyangjan at a special ceremony held at the Bokaro Collectorate premises on Tuesday under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The programme was organized jointly by Dugda Coal Washery of BCCL and the Bokaro District Administration. Bokaro Deputy Commissioner A.N. Jha inaugurated the distribution event and handed over motorized e-tricycles to 10 specially-abled beneficiaries from the district.
Senior officials present on the occasion included BCCL General Manager (Washery) Md. Sohail Iqbal, Advisor (Land) N.K. Agarwal, members of the BCCL CSR team, and officers and staff of the Bokaro District Administration.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner A.N. Jha lauded BCCL’s sustained CSR outreach, stating that the company’s continued contribution towards the welfare of different sections of society reflects its commitment to balanced and humane development. He noted that bringing underprivileged and marginalized citizens into the mainstream is a collective responsibility of both administration and institutions, and such initiatives play a crucial role in boosting confidence and self-reliance among beneficiaries.
BCCL has been undertaking a wide range of CSR interventions in education, healthcare, sanitation, environmental protection, skill development and community welfare in line with statutory CSR mandates.
The distribution of motorized e-tricycles marks another important milestone in this direction, as it is expected to significantly enhance mobility for persons with disabilities, enabling easier access to daily needs, greater independence, and improved participation in social as well as economic life.
Through such targeted CSR initiatives, BCCL continues to strengthen its commitment towards social upliftment and inclusive growth in the coal belt region.
