BCCL’s CSR initiative introduces Artificial Intelligence-based education at Kendriya Vidyalaya

The project has been designed as a three-year intervention and is expected to benefit nearly 200 students every year

In a significant step towards promoting technology-enabled education in coal belt communities, Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) has launched an AI-based educational project at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Binod Nagar, Dhanbad under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

BCCL, a key subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has consistently been supporting educational infrastructure and community development in mining regions through its CSR interventions.

The project was formally inaugurated on Saturday in the presence of school Principal Shailendra Sharma, officials from BCCL’s CSR Department, and representatives associated with the implementing agency.

During the inaugural programme, students were introduced to the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education and everyday life. Speakers explained the practical applications of AI, its academic benefits, future career relevance, and the precautions needed for its responsible use. Students were encouraged to use AI as a positive learning tool to strengthen knowledge, improve analytical abilities, and prepare for emerging technological challenges.

Under the initiative, students of Class VI and above will receive structured training in new-age digital technologies and technical skills through AI-enabled software platforms. The software will continuously monitor each student’s learning progress, conduct periodic assessments, identify weak areas, and provide customised recommendations including videos, study material, and remedial content.

This AI-driven system is expected to ensure a personalised learning experience, enabling students to improve at their own pace with targeted academic support.

The project has been designed as a three-year intervention and is expected to benefit nearly 200 students every year. Besides strengthening classroom learning, the programme aims to enhance students’ digital literacy, logical reasoning, problem-solving ability, and technical competence.

Officials said the initiative reflects BCCL’s commitment to bridging the digital divide in its command areas and providing modern educational opportunities to children from local communities.

With this intervention, BCCL has taken an important step towards fostering innovation-led education and creating a future-ready student ecosystem in Dhanbad.
