KVIC Distributes 3,645 Machines and Toolkits at Khadi Rozgar Utsav in Haryana; ₹504.68 Crore PMEGP Subsidy Released

In Haryana alone, 253 projects received support with margin money subsidy of about ₹7.5 crore and bank loans worth ₹23.19 crore, creating an estimated 2,783 new jobs

The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), under the Ministry of MSME, organized a grand Khadi Rozgar Utsav in Siwani, Bhiwani district of Haryana, on Wednesday. The event was attended by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini as Chief Guest and KVIC Chairman Manoj Goyal as Guest of Honour.

During the event, 3,645 modern machines and toolkits were distributed to artisans and beneficiaries under the Gramodyog Vikas Yojana (GVY). The assistance included bee boxes and bee colonies for beekeepers, electric pottery wheels, sewing machines, footwear manufacturing toolkits, traditional charkhas, and leaf-plate making machines. Additionally, 2,350 bee boxes and colonies were distributed virtually across seven states and union territories.

A major highlight of the programme was the online disbursement of ₹504.68 crore margin money subsidy under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) for 22,259 new projects across the country. Banks have sanctioned loans worth approximately ₹1,485 crore for these projects, which are expected to generate employment for nearly 2.45 lakh people.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that Khadi has been a symbol of self-reliance, dignity, and India’s freedom movement. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed the concept into “Khadi for Nation, Khadi for Fashion, and Khadi for Transformation,” adding that the Khadi Rozgar Utsav has effectively translated the vision of “Vocal for Local” into reality.

The Chief Minister highlighted that 58,796 artisans are currently employed through 96 active Khadi institutions in Haryana, while more than 1.27 lakh people have benefited from employment opportunities under the Gramodyog Vikas Yojana. He also noted that over the past 12 years, 18,683 new units have been established in the state under PMEGP, generating employment for more than 1.5 lakh people.

KVIC Chairman Manoj Goyal said the Khadi and Village Industries sector has witnessed unprecedented growth under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He stated that the sector’s production has reached approximately ₹1.25 lakh crore, while turnover has touched a record ₹1.87 lakh crore, providing employment to 2.04 crore people nationwide.

Goyal emphasized that KVIC is working continuously towards realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047,” “Atmanirbhar Bharat,” “Vocal for Local,” and “Local to Global.” He added that the sector has set an ambitious turnover target of ₹2.51 lakh crore and continues to strengthen rural entrepreneurship and employment generation across the country.
